Flowerfield Township Meeting Minutes
FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING Supervisor Carroll Parmeter called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Oct. 1, 2007 at the township hall, Ron Shaver, Pam Altimus, Paul Williams, Sally Hackenberg and Carroll Parmeter were all present. There were nine visitors. ADDITIONS New fire contract with Lockport, Fabius and Park Townships under New Business. AGENDA Pam made the motion to accept the Agenda, seconded by Sally, motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Pam made the motion to approve the September 4, 2007 minutes, seconded by Sally, motion carried. COMMENTS Pam asked if the board would consent for her to use the township hall on Nov. 17th, the board agreed that it would be all right. REPORTS Assessor-Shalice was not present. Rural Inspection-Tony was not present. PCB-Had a meeting Thursday Sept. 25th. Ron thanked Pam for copying and mailing all the questionnaires concerning the Master plan update. The PCB hopes to have the questionnaires compiled by the Oct. meeting. Bob has a rough draft of the Master plan, and they hope to hold a public meeting in January. Sexton-Bill reported one burial in Sept. Doug Kulhman stated that the township attorney would send a letter to Blentlingers, Swartz and Springwood Farms. NEW BUSINESS The board discussed the new contract with LFP Fire Department with concerns about their response time and border changes. Carroll appointed Paul Williams to form a committee the research these questions. This contract is a bid to cover our entire township. It was noted that the fire department has increased their fire calls from $1000 to $2500. OLD BUSINESS The FOIA update was tabled until next month. Paul discussed with the board the update of House Bill 4780 concerning no township government. He has talked to Rick Shaffer concerning this and will get back with the board at the Nov. meeting concerning any actions we might have to take. EXPENDITURES Paul made the motion to approve expenditures 2739 thru 2758, seconded by Sally, motion carried. ADJOURNMENT Sally made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Paul, motion carried with the meeting adjourning at 9:00 p.m.
